HO UN SOGNO

Il 28 agosto , 250.000 persone di tutte le razze, sotto la guida del ministero nero Martin Luther King, marciarono a Washington DC, chiedendo uguali diritti anche per la gente nera. Nel suo famoso discorso "I have a dream" (io ho un sogno"), Martin Luther King toccò il cuore della nazione e milioni di persone passarono all'azione.

"Io dico a voi oggi, miei amici, che nonostante tutte le difficoltà del momento, io continuo ad avere un sogno(...). Io ho sogno che un giorno questa nazione si sveglierà in questo credo: che tutti gli uomini sono stati creati uguali. Io ho un sogno che un giorno(...) il primo figlio dello schiavo e il primo figlio dello schiavista staranno seduti insieme sul tavolo della fratellanza(...). Io ho un sogno che i miei piccoli figli un giorno vivranno in una nazione dove non saranno giudicati per il loro colore ma da dalle loro capacità. Io fo un sogno oggi (...). e se l'America è una grande nazione questo deve divenire vero. 
 

I HAVE A DREAM

On August 28, 250.000 people of all races, led by the black minister Martin Luther king , marched in Washington DC, to demand equal rights for negroes. In his famous speech I have a Dream , extracts from which follow, Martin Luther King touched the conscience of the nation and pusched milions of peolpe to action. 

" I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties abnd frustations of the moment, I still have a dream(...). I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, and live out the true meaning of its creed: we hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal . I have a dream that one day (...) the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the able of brotherhood (...). I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judgeb by color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today (...). And if America is to be a great nation this must come true. ( Martin Luther King, August 28, 1963)
